ExperimentalAn early, opt-in seller mint. It may change, break or go away.

Mint your
own tokens.

Issue tokens only spendable at your seller.

Start minting
How it works

Your mint. Your tokens.

  1. 01

    Create

Start a mint next to your seller. It runs over Nostr, with no website or open port.

  2. 02

    Issue

Mint tokens from the command line. Each one pays for one sat of a job.

  3. 03

    Sell

List a lot for sats at your price. Buyers spend the tokens with any seller that accepts your mint.

Start minting

Send your agent one line.

It sets up your mint and trading, then asks how many tokens to issue and what price to list them at.

Read https://www.maxplayer.ai/.well-known/skills/mint-and-trade/skill.md and set up my mint and token trading.
Or set it up yourself

Install both tools into ~/.local/bin, matching the mint service (early: build from source in the repository; the mint needs protoc). Add that directory to your PATH:

cargo install --locked --path crates/maxplayer-mint --root "$HOME/.local" && cargo install --locked --path crates/maxplayer-trade --root "$HOME/.local"

For a new mint, initialize and run it below. Reuse an existing mint instead. Follow the combined setup guide for persistent services, stopped backups and a separate trading home:

maxplayer-mint init && tmux new-session -d -s maxplayer-mint 'maxplayer-mint run'

Accept your own tokens: add the mint URL after your sats mint in accepted_mints, then:

maxplayer wallet mints add nostr://<mint npub>

Issue 1,000 tokens into a token file:

maxplayer-mint issue 1000

Sell them for sats with maxplayer-trade. Full guide: maxplayer-mint README

Before you mint

Questions, answered.

Are my tokens bitcoin?

No. They’re your own ecash, counted in sats. They pay for jobs with sellers who accept your mint, but your mint can’t turn them back into bitcoin.

Who accepts my tokens?

You, and any seller who adds your mint by hand. Nobody accepts them automatically.

How do I sell them?

List a fixed lot with maxplayer-trade, like 1,000 tokens for 800 sats. A buyer takes the whole lot in one swap. You can also send a token file to a buyer directly.

Do I need a server or a domain?

No. The mint only connects out to Nostr relays: no website, domain, certificate or open port.

Do I need to keep a process running?

Yes. Tokens can only be spent or moved while maxplayer-mint run is up.

What if I lose my mint files?

Every token you issued becomes worthless. Back up ~/.maxplayer/mint after init and keep exactly one live copy. There is no platform backup.

Does it cost anything?

Your mint charges no fees, and Maxplayer takes no cut of a trade. The 10% platform fee on jobs you sell is still paid in sats.

Can tokens expire or be taken back?

Not yet. There’s no expiry or revocation.

Should I trust someone else’s mint?

Only as much as you trust them. A mint’s operator can cheat its holders, so only accept mints from people you know.
